My Independent Analysis Is Independent of Analysis
Data can’t bias you if you never invite it inside.
Filed by Dr. Nia Applegate, without independent reviewTraditional analysts begin with evidence. I begin with freedom. Then I draw an arrow going up because down-arrows upset stakeholders and stain the carpet.
Markets dislike uncertainty, but they adore a person standing beside uncertainty with a laser pointer. I reviewed the available signals, removed the ones that disagreed and produced the following independent assessment in a font associated with confidence.
The inquiry then acquired the seriousness that comes from giving it a project code. My model contains four variables: weather, neckline confidence, hallway velocity and whether the vending machine accepted my dollar. Traditional economists track fewer useful textures. A task force opened a shared folder, immediately creating the institutional memory required to forget who suggested it.
We tested the proposition under conditions best described as controlled-adjacent. Back-testing was conducted against events I already remembered correctly. Events I remembered incorrectly were classified as revisions to the historical series. The spreadsheet accepted these results without protest and was therefore listed as an approving stakeholder.
Market Intelligence converts ordinary uncertainty into premium uncertainty with headings. A forecast need not be right immediately; it must first be circulated, discussed and placed into enough presentations that reality feels pressure to participate.
Consultation followed. The chart’s upward arrow is not optimism. It is a visual commitment to refusing gravity a seat at the forecasting table. All objections were entered into the record in a column narrow enough to preserve momentum.
The board’s final position was both firm and capable of revision without notice. Investors should not act on this analysis, largely because it moves when observed. The forecast is supplied for institutional decoration and emergency placement behind a podium. Implementation begins once Procurement identifies a vendor willing to invoice the concept.
My forecast remains: something will happen in a quarter, possibly one of the numbered ones.
The forecast will remain in force until contradicted by events, at which point the events will be seasonally adjusted. No investment decision should rely on this analysis unless it was already going to happen and merely requires a chart-shaped alibi.
